About This Place

Bakersfield Roasting Company stands out as a true gem in Bakersfield’s vibrant coffee scene, offering more than just your average cup of joe. Nestled at 6501 Schirra Ct Suite #316, this specialty coffee roaster and shop combines an inviting atmosphere with a strong mission, making every visit a meaningful experience.

From the moment you step inside, the vibe is remarkably calming and welcoming. John Fee praises the relaxing ambiance, complemented by polite and attentive staff who strike the perfect balance between friendly and unobtrusive. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to work or a cozy nook to catch up with friends, the ample seating and mellow tunes create an ideal environment. Plus, convenient parking removes one common hurdle for city coffee lovers.

What truly elevates Bakersfield Roasting Company is their commitment to quality and community. Each coffee bean is locally roasted on-site, ensuring freshness and rich flavors that connoisseurs can appreciate. Eddie Perez highlights a standout choice: the brown sugar cortado with a dash of cinnamon and oat milk—a harmonious blend of spice and sweetness that dances across the palate. It’s not just coffee; it’s an experience, rich with nuanced aromas and a smooth, full-bodied finish.

Juliette Fraire’s glowing review captures the essence perfectly: having visited numerous coffee shops across California and Florida, she confidently ranks Bakersfield Roasting Company at the top. Their visible roasting process adds a unique educational and sensory dimension, connecting customers intimately with the craft behind each cup.

While some, like Breanne Gonzalez, note that prices tend toward the higher side, the premium is well justified. Bakersfield Roasting Company operates as a nonprofit dedicated to combating human trafficking and homelessness—allowing patrons to indulge in gourmet coffee while supporting a worthwhile cause. This dual impact makes every sip all the more rewarding.

The menu extends beyond just coffee, with refreshing smoothies and delectable treats like chocolate chip cookies that Marisol Ruiz affectionately recommends. The outdoor seating area is thoughtfully designed with fans and shade, inviting guests to relax and savor their drinks alfresco, making it a perfect spot for sunny Bakersfield days.

Some visitors have observed moments where staff might be preoccupied during peak times, but overall, the team is knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their craft. Supporting Bakersfield Roasting Company means championing local entrepreneurship and ethical impact without compromising on exceptional taste and comfort.

In sum, Bakersfield Roasting Company offers a sensory journey through expertly roasted beans, a warm and peaceful setting, and a mission that resonates deeply. It’s not just about coffee—it’s about community, purpose, and savoring every moment. Whether you’re a seasoned coffee aficionado or someone simply seeking a serene spot with quality drinks, this local treasure is absolutely worth discovering.

I have been to many coffee shops in California and Florida and this one is by far the best. Delicious tasting coffee! Great atmosphere and cool display of roasting coffee. I certainly recommend! Everyone in Bakersfield should try this coffee.

Coffee is a little pricey, but understandable, as this is a nonprofit that helps with human trafficking and homelessness. Coffee is pretty tasty as well! Locally roasts their own beans

Fresh roasted coffee in Bakersfield. Just something better about fresh roasted coffee beans. Must try. I had a brown sugar cortado with a dash of cinnamon and oat milk. The flavor was exceptional. Staff was really nice and knowledgeable. Stop by and support our local businesses.

The zucchini bread was off the hook! We tried the hot lavender latte with plant milk, iced coffee, and a few pastries. The staff was polite & friendly. Wait time was minimal & prices were fair. The only downside if any would be trying to find parking & sitting space on a busy day.

Great coffee and great service. My favorite is their Black Pearl. Must give them a shout out and a thank you. I was hosting my daughter’s Baby shower and for the Thank you favors I wanted to give out some of their coffee. They ground the coffee for me in the quantity I needed. I asked for some of their stickers and they gave them to me so I could put them on the individual bags I was going to hand out along with stickers I had bought that said, A baby is brewing. They turned out great.

Delicious! And friendly staff! We asked for recommendations and was advised all the fall stuff was popular and their regular menu item the carmanilla, so I ordered that iced and a hot Cozy Maple Pumpkin. Both were fantastic. And they have the cutest little setup in their cafe. We enjoyed a warmed brown butter salted chocolate chip cookie too, divine. They were consistently busy while we sat and enjoyed our coffee. They have outdoor seating, free wifi, and order ahead options. My gf and I have made it a goal to try all the mom and pop coffee shops and so far this one tops the list!
